I believe it can be used as a useful concept in all organizational settings if you are at a leadership position. Miller teaches his lessons in more of a chronological/story based style, but I love them both. I have a 1946 edition of this book which my father used as a reference in supplying our family all of our food from 1948 until 1962 and a large portion of our food thereafter. One of the parts that really had me cackling were Tim's descriptions of eating (from foreign foods that have animals that are still alive and crawl off your plate) to the topic of vegetarianism.
If you are a fan of Tim Gunn, I don't have to sell you on this book - you'll probably be interested in reading it. Here and there I found an insight or a quote that was useful, but I was not able to use it as a primary source for the preparation of a sermon series.. I came away inspired. At any rate, the author, Lorna Hardwick, is not primarily concerned with the methodology based upon what Roman Jakobson c
