Trish Ryan was the quintessential successful thirtysomething woman -- she had a career as an attorney, a nice car, and a succession of men clamoring for her affection. But despite all her accomplishments, the things by which she defined her life continually left her disappointed, especially when it came to dating. Like the heroines of chick-lit novels and TV sitcoms, she couldn't escape her bad luck with men: men who cheated, who left her, who made her a lesser version of herself. After years of trying everything out there to make love work -- self-help programs, new age philosophy, feminist empowerment -- she decided to give Jesus a try. HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME NOT is Ryan's story of how her search for the right guy turned into the search for the right God, and (spoiler alert!) how she ended up with her own happily-ever-after ending.
Trish Ryan lives outside Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband, Steve, their two adopted children, and a giant dog named Bergie. She is the co-lead pastor of Greenhouse Mission Vineyard Church (GreenhouseMissionChurch). Trish is also the author of A Maze of Grace: A Memoir of Second Chances (Hachette 2010) For more about Trish, visit trishryanauthor
Each time I open the book I see something I had missed earlier. This is a "must read" for anyone interested in, or involved in, the Vietnam War. Many of them have been nothing more than poorly written scenes of blood and gore strung together by tenuous plotlines and cardboard thin characters. These people would have no money left over at the end of the fiscal year to pay their tax. Nothing prepares us for the devastating loss of a loved one, and only through the loving grace of Jesus Christ, can we find such comfort and consolation as described in this inspiring book. Excellent book! Owned it years ago but it disappeared. The fossil record supports evolutionary theory on both of these grounds." (pg. She speaks from the heart on issues that affect most of us at some time in our lives. The pictures are glorious, the text is good.
